Most enterprise companies have adopted comprehensive SAP ERP platform with Microsoft server base infrastructure. The obvious reason being that each of those systems serves a dominant enterprise function. No single company can claim dominancy in both fields. At least this is the current trend worldwide. Such implementation has been the case for three enterprises I worked with recently.
Integration becomes essential between the two platforms, and this is also true when it comes to BI with plenty of scenarios to choose from. The three major scenarios for such integration are:
- Tapping into SAP ERP raw tables directly.
- Utilising SAP NetWeaver BW/BI development.
- Integration of SSAS development through SAP NetWeaver Open Hub.
